Who We Are
The Light Microscopy facility is a fully-supported, shared resources environment open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to Janelia scientists. It houses a full complement of state-of-the-art microscopes and multiple workstations dedicated to image processing. Please contact us to discuss how we can advance your research.
What We Do
The Light Microscopy facility provides advanced imaging resources to assist Janelia scientists with their research. In addition to regular maintenance, we offer project-specific training and consultation, technical assistance for image analysis, and periodically arrange in-depth workshops on microscopy theory, techniques, and image processing. We've implemented the following COVID Guidelines for facility users.
MOSAIC and Cryo-SIM (combined with FIB-SEM for correlative Light/EM) are under construction.
In Fall 2019, we offered two comprehensive workshops: Microscopy for Biologists and Intro to ImageJ/Fiji. In 2022, we will be hosting Optical Imaging Across Biological Length Scales.
We have advanced workflows using Janelia's IPP to easily process (FF correction, deconvolution, and stitching) all acquisitions from light sheet microscopes.
